Philippe
Tarbouriech - Profile
After
growing up in Ville-la-Grand, in Haute-Savoie, I spent two entertaining
years in Annecy. Then 3 years of ENSEA and a stint at ESSEC. After being
thrown out of the military service, I joined a group of nuts who wanted
to build the reader's workstation for the Bibliothèque de France
(French Library). I came to California with Alexandre and we worked for
6 months on Xanadu with Ted Nelson. After a few month at Photon Machines,
a still born startup, I joined Electronic Arts where I learnt 3D and video
games. I worked on Shockwave, RoadRash 3D and finally Sim City 3000. In
January 1999, I co-founded Xenote. After a short but wild ride, Xenote
closed September 22nd, 2000 due to lack of funding.
I waited
for the Canon D30 digital reflex camera to ship and left for Burma and
India...
...most
recently, I upgraded to a canon 1ds and I feel like i am on a different
planet. almost no lag, almost perfect autofocus, very sturdy construction...
and the quality of images beats a hasselblad. a new lense, a canon 24-70f2.8
completes the package. I had a hard time getting used to the regular focal
again and this lense gives me back the 28-55 range I had with the 17-35
on the d30, just better at both ends !
